SUPPORT THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT

Contact your Congressperson and urge him or her to support H.R. 629 (not sure who your rep is?  Visit www.wvcag.org, scroll down and enter your zip code under Contact Your Legislators on left side of website).

Our country is facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Without action now, the situation is only going to get worse.

We need swift action to create jobs and get the economy moving again.

H.R. 629, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will provide:

  • direct investment in struggling families who will spend whatever assistance they receive;
  • investments in badly needed infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, schools and public transport;
  • Investments to prevent cuts in vital state services like health care, education and public safety.

Action:  Call the Capitol switchboard toll free at 1-800-473-6711 and ask for your Congressperson's office. Urge him or her to support H.R. 629 and help put America back to work.  (*The toll free number is provided by the American Friends Service Committee, a nonpartisan Quaker organization.)
