Pick Up America Rally at the WV Capitol - Monday, September 13

Pick Up America, West Virginia Citizen Action Group, The Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charleston would like to invite you to participate in the construction, rally, celebration, and destruction of Recycle Mountain on Monday September 13th.

What: A mountain of littered recyclables with a vision for sustainability at the West Virginia State Capitol. A rally to encourage a “Bottle Bill” to be passed in West Virginia.

Where: 11 am at Haddad Riverfront to participate in the musical parade and help construct RECYCLE mountain. 1 pm at the fountain area of the Capitol to attend the rally.

When: Monday September 13th; Meet at 11:00 am for the March, March at 11:30 am, Construction at 12:15 pm, Rally at 1 pm, Celebration with music from 2-4 pm. Destruction at 4 pm.

Why: To encourage sustainability and recycling in West Virginia.

 Free Lecture in Shepherdstown - September 16

Professor Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia will present the sixth annual Tom E Moses Memorial Lecture on the Constitution: "Immigration Law and Policy After 9/11 and Prospects for Reform" on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7 PM at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies on the campus of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown.

Dr. Wadhia is a clinical professor of law at Penn State Law School where she is also the director of the Center for Immigrants' Rights.  

The lecture is free and open to the public.  A reception will follow the presentation.
