Real Solutions to Rising Energy Rates

As the price of fuel rises, West Virginians should not be surprised that energy companies  are trying to push cost increases onto consumers.  It's time for us to stand up against bad energy practices that cost us more and more money!

Tomorrow, Energy Efficient West Virginia and the Coalition for Reliable Power will hold their second public forum to talk about how the Public Service Commission set electric rates and what West Virginia's citizens can do to advocate for energy efficient practices rather than astronomical bills from the electric utilities operating in our state.  Come learn what you can do to save money and encourage companies like Appalachian Power to adopt responsible policies and practices that saves for both the consumer and the utility.

The public meeting will be held tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, 6:00pm at the Beckley Council Chambers, 409 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV 25801-5620.  Doors open at 5:30 PM and light refreshments will be provided.

Support Verizon Workers Fighting For New Contract

Last Year 45,000 Communications Workers took a stand against Verizon's bad practices that put corporate profit before workers and sell much needed American jobs oversees. The fight continues.

In the last four years, Verizon’s top 5 executives made $283 million; and, from 2008-2010 Verizon did not pay any federal corporate income taxes, despite billions in profits.  Yet Verizon workers STILL have to fight for fair wages, health and retirement earnings!  Tomorrow, West Virginia Communication Workers will join with workers across America in a national day of actions that demand Verizon pay its fair share.

Demonstrations will be taking place, tomorrow, Thursday, in Logan, Huntington, and Teays Valley.  Find out more at We Are One
