Call Congress TODAY to End the Bush Tax Cuts for the Richest 2%

Join us and thousands of other concerned Americans for our National Call Congress Week to make sure that we end the Bush tax cuts for the richest 2%.

When you call Sen. Manchin and your Representative, – remember that you’re supporting the secretary that pays higher income taxes than her CEO boss, the schoolteacher that pays more taxes than some big corporations, and the millions of Americans that want to see an end to tax breaks for people that don’t really need them.

Call on the toll free line today -- 888-744-9958 -- and make your voice heard!

For more information on the national campaign for tax fairness visit http://www.americansfortaxfairness.org

Now more than ever it’s important for supporters of tax fairness to rally and stand up for what’s right. The U.S. Senate will vote as early as July 23 about whether to extend the Bush. The U.S. House most likely will vote the week after that.

Tell them to support President Obama’s proposal to save $1 trillion by ending the Bush tax cuts for the richest 2% – households making over $250,000 a year.

Remember, people who earn more than $1 million a year get an average tax break of about $143,000 from the Bush tax cuts. People making about $50,000 a year get an average tax break of only about $1,000.

When the rich get tax breaks they don’t need and the country can’t afford — hard-working, middle-class Americans like you have to make up the difference — and that’s not fair.

Let’s make some calls.

Thanks,

Gary Zuckett, WV Citizen Action

Help Stop the Frack Attack! ~ Join Us in Washington, DC July 28

It’s becoming more and more evident every day. Fracking is going to take a heavy toll on our lives…and for what? Come and join people from California to New York, from North Dakota to Texas…. people across the country are converging on the U.S. Capitol to tell Congress, the President and the world to end the rush to drill and STOP THE FRACK ATTACK!

Now is the time for us to unite and demand that decision makers inside the beltway hear our voice and take action to change the way the oil and gas industry operates in this country.

On July 28, 2012 community members and organizations from across the country will gather in Washington, DD for a rally at the Capitol to demand nor more drilling that harms public health, water and air quality, and the climate. Instead of pushing for the increased usa of oil and gas, elected officials and public agencies must put communities and the environment first, beginning with the removal of special exemptions and subsidies enjoyed by the oil and gas industry.

Details
The rally begins at 2:00 PM on the West Law of the U.S. Capitol, with inspiration, information, and invigoration.

At 3:30, we march to the American Natural Gas Association and the American Petroleum Institute headquarters for a special delivery. (Total march distance is about 2 miles.)

The march ends in time to reboard buses at 5:30 PM and head for home.

The West Virginia Chapter of Sierra Club is chartering a bus to this huge rally. The bus will leave from Morgantown on July 28 and return the same day. The bus is open to everyone, so get on the bus!  Tickets are available online. (See link below)

The bus will depart from the Wal-Mart parking lot at Exit 1 on Interstate 68 at 9:00 AM.  There will  be a short stop at Hagerstown at 11:30 AM for fast food and to pick up additional passengers. The bus will pick up passengers at Franklin Park following the march and leave DC at 6:00 PM. On the return trip there will be another short stop (probably) at Hagerstown. The bus should return to Morgantown around midnight. Tickets are $20 roundtrip.
