 COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE MEETING - Unitarian Universalist Congregation (UUC), 512 Kanawha Boulevard W, Charleston, Wednesday, September 2.  7:00 PM

There will be meetings all over the country to let Congress know that we need real health care for everyone as good as Congress has for itself.  Bring your health care horror stories with you and let’s tell Congress why we need reform.

 September 3:  Morgantown Forum on Health Care Reform

Sponsored by West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, WV Nurses Association, Mon-Preston Central Labor Council and AFSCME Local 3261.  7:00 to 8:30 PM at South Middle School (directions are below).

The public will hear short presentations from six panelists who represent different perspectives on health care reform. A question and answer period will follow. Panelists include:  Ruth Wagner, President of West Virginia AARP with the perspective of senior citizens, former state Senator Jon Hunter on veterans issues, David Cormier, Ph. D. with the WVU Institute for Labor Studies & Research with a labor perspective, Richard Iammarino, a retired physician, with one physician's viewpoint, Sheryl Grossman with the perspective of people with disabilities, and Perry Bryant with a consumer perspective.

The forum is free and open to the public. Please feel free to circulate this email to others who you think may be interested.

Directions to South Middle School from Morgantown. Take Don Knotts Blvd. south towards the Mountaineer Mall. Turn left onto Greenbag Road. Go less than 1 mile, and turn left onto Mtec Road. Take an immediate right onto East Parkway Road, and South Middle School will be right in front of you.

Directions from I-68. Take Exit #1. At the end of the exit ramp turn towards Morgantown. Go approximately 2 miles, and turn right at the stop light onto Greenbag Road. Go less than a mile, turm left onto Mtec Road, take an immediate right onto East Parkway Road, and South Middle School will be right in front of you.

 First Friday - September 4

September 6:  Labor Day Picnic in Mannington

Come to Hough Park in Mannington, Marion County from  12 - 4PM for a Labor Day picnic hosted by the Marion County Labor Council.  Congressman Mollohan will be there and Governor Joe Manchin is the event's keynote speaker.  WV-CAG and our coalition partners on health care reform will present Mr. Mollohan with petition signatures from his constituents who support health care reform.  There will be food, music, and activities for the kids.
