September 13:  Pick Up America Rally at the WV State Capitol

After a long, arduous trek through West Virginia, Pick Up America will celebrate by constructing a mountain of recyclables at the WV State Capitol. RECYCLE MOUNTAIN is an environmental art project intended to encourage the passage of a West Virginia "Bottle Bill". Please come for all or part of the rally and show your support!

SCHEDULE*

11 am - Meet, Greet, & Organize at Haddad Riverfront Park.
...

11:30 am - Divide up into small groups and caravan to different points in the city. Each small group will carry several recycling bags toward the Capital. The point of this is so more people throughout the city will see what we're doing.

12:15pm - Convene at the WW II memorial at the Capitol with bags. March with everyone to the Capitol fountain (with a rag-tag marching band!).

12:30pm - Assemble RECYCLE MOUNTAIN.

1pm - 2pm - Rally with several speakers.

2pm - Rally ends. Mountain on display.

4 PM - Just like in nature when all things breakdown and provide nourishment for others, Recycle Mountain will be disassembled and recycled at the Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority.
