Things are moving fast. We're coming off the heels of a great victory in the U.S. Senate where just last week a majority voted to end the Bush tax cuts for the richest 2%. But the work is far from over. As early as today the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the same issue. Just like in the Senate, the choice we face is a clear one:

· Republicans will propose that everyone get a tax cut -- including a $150,000 tax break, on average, for people who earn more than $1 million a year. Their bill also will raise taxes on 25 million mostly middle- to lower-income families.

· Democrats will propose that everyone get a tax cut -- but that it end on income above $250,000 a year -- the richest 2%.

It is simply unacceptable that members of Congress would vote to protect the richest 2% while raising taxes on 25 million mostly middle- and lower-income families.
