Help Us Celebrate Our Ruby Anniversary

Mark your calendar! Our big 40th Anniversary Celebration is coming up on September 12th at the Charleston Woman's Club! We'll be celebrating four decades of consumer protection, environmental and social justice work in West Virginia. It's hard to imagine back to 1974 when David Grubb and friends started what is now the longest continually operated state Citizen Action Group in the country. Commenting last year on the upcoming 40th, David said, “We had no idea back in the 70's that this thing would still be going in 2013. We often had to compare utility bills to see who needed to get paid that week!”

Through the years it's often been a struggle to keep the bills paid. Doing the advocacy work is usually more rewarding than fundraising. That's why we strive to make our awards dinner/fundraiser lots of fun for both staff and guests. Please mark 9-12-14 on your calendar as “A good time for a good cause!”

Of course, we will be having our silent auction, so we are looking for unique items to fill the tables in September. If you have an item to donate or just drop it off at the office, give us a call, or email julie@wvcag.org or karan@wvcag.org.
