Halfway There: Black Policy Day Highlights the Week
We’re now in the 5th week of session and have reached the halfway mark (Day 30). The pace is accelerating. Committees’ agendas and floor sessions are growing longer. Wednesday, February 7th was Black Policy Day and we were there with many other groups tabling and showing support for the policies being supported by our communities of color as part of the Black Policy Agenda. With so much happening so fast, your calls and notes to legislators are needed every week, so please keep them coming and Tell Them What You Want! More

Attend a Public Hearing on Net Metering – Mon. Jan. 22 @5:30 PM
The Public Service Commission will be holding a public hearing on case 23-0460-E-42T (Monongahela Power Company and The Potomac Edison Company) Monday, Jan. 22 at 5:30 pm. Along with a significant rate increase, this case includes a proposal to slash net metering credits in half. Citizens can attend the hearing in person at the PSC headquarters or virtually through Microsoft Teams. Two community events have also been scheduled for residents to come together to support solar. Coal Taxes That We All Pay
Coal may keep the lights on in WV (our state still burns it to produce 90% of our electricity) but it also keeps paying less and less taxes and costs us more and more on our power bills. It also costs us taxpayers more and more in making up for the taxes coal isn’t paying. More
