Election Alert: 18 WV Counties Face Poll Worker Shortage

We’ll cut to the chase: election administrators across West Virginia are preparing for upcoming elections — and 18 counties need more poll workers to help keep polling places open.

WV CAG is partnering with Power the Polls, a nonpartisan initiative that works directly with election administrators to identify needs for poll workers across the country. When you sign up, Power the Polls will direct you to the official poll worker application for your local jurisdiction. Once you submit your application, your local election administrator will contact you if your service is needed.

You can also sign up through the Secretary of State’s Office or by contacting your county clerk.

As a poll worker, you get paid to help make sure the election is fair, efficient, and accessible for all voters. Poll workers support early voting locations, ensure technology functions, and help minimize long lines and delays at polling places.

Sign up TODAY at www.powerthepolls.org/wvcag to help your neighbors vote.

If you can’t power the polls this time, consider this email your reminder to get out and vote — and to tell your friends and family to do the same! The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 15. Register, check, or update your registration at GoVoteWV.com, then make a plan to vote.

Thank you for all you do for our democracy!
