MEDIA ADVISORY │ Indivisible Activists Across West Virginia Holding “Light Brigade” Displays in 9 Counties, Calling on Sen. Manchin & Capito to End the Filibuster

Charleston, WV — This week, West Virginia Indivisible activists are projecting 9 bold light displays against West Virginia landscapes and heavily-trafficked areas in Kanawha, Boone, Wood, Pocahontas, Ohio, Monongalia, Greenbrier, Fayette and Summers counties calling on Senator Joe Manchin and Senator Shelley Moore Capito to eliminate the Senate filibuster to ensure the Senate passes legislation that reflects the needs of West Virginians and protects democracy.

The Kanawha County event will take place in Charleston, WV on June 10th at 9PM at the Veterans Memorial in the WV State Capitol Complex. Simultaneous events will take place in Summers, Wood and Boone, Pocahontas, and Fayette counties. Other counties will be holding events throughout the week.

If we eliminate the filibuster, it will be possible to pass the For The People Act, which poll after poll of WV voters show the majority of Republican voters support the For The People Act. This poll shows 81% of WV Democrats and 76% of Republicans support it. This poll has similar numbers.

We know that our senators want to ensure the Senate passes legislation that reflects the needs of West Virginians and protects our democracy.
