Healthcare Webinar: Lowering Drug Costs NOW
By Cracking Down on Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)

This educational healthcare webinar will be held on September 22nd at 7PM and will be centered around how we can lower prescription drug costs now by cracking down on Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). The press and public are invited to attend.

Learn from industry professionals and community leaders how some PBMs exploit patients and independently owned pharmacies for profit.

PBMs influence prescription drug costs, determine which drugs are covered by an insurance plan, and pocket unknown sums of money that might otherwise be passed along as savings to consumers. Currently, three PBMs control nearly 80% of the prescription drug market and operate with little oversight.

Participants will be invited to Take Action to contact their congress members and ask them to support a recent Senate bill aimed at cracking down on the unfair and deceptive practices of Pharmacy Benefit Managers.

  • Dr. Daniel Doyle, Secretary of Physicians for a National Health Program of West Virginia
  • Gary Zuckett, Executive Director of West Virginia Citizen Action Group
  • Eve Marcum-Atkinson, Communications Coordinator for West Virginia Citizen Action Group

This event is part of a Health Care Webinar Series, and is hosted by WV Citizen Action Group, West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, Health Care for All WV, Physicians for a National Health Program of WV, and Rise Up WV.
