Action for a better climate. healthcare system. democracy. community. West Virginia.

West Virginia Citizen Action is a member-driven and member-led organization with a long history of responsiveness to the issues that matter to you. Our statewide staff focus at all levels on climate, healthcare and democracy, and our chapters work on hyperlocal issues including levies, permitting, and elections.

WV CAG’s Climate Committee is focused on a just transition in West Virginia and the Ohio River Valley, specifically supporting energy justice, community air monitoring, and opposing false solutions.

Our Healthcare Committee works for the health and dignity of all, and the end to profit-driven healthcare through Medicaid expansion, opposing predatory practices, and supporting members through claim appeals.

Our Democracy committee works to increase transparency and accountability in West Virginia elections, and advance reforms to strengthen democracy and ensure fairness and impartially in our courts.

About Our Committees and Chapters

WV Citizen Action is comprised of two kinds of active working groups: committees and chapters. Committees work at all levels on a general issue, such as air monitoring or supporting folks through health insurance claim denials. Chapters are hyperlocal groups, often focusing on a town or a county, that are primarily focused on issues and elections in their locality. If you’re interested in starting up or joining our working groups, pleas contact us at info@wvcag.org — When we fight, we win!
