Action Alert: LIHEAP Assistance Threatened

from West Virginians for Energy Freedom

This is an emergency. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has just terminated the staff responsible for administering the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) — a move that puts the health and safety of thousands of West Virginians in immediate jeopardy.

Last year alone, 56,108 West Virginia households relied on LIHEAP to afford their utility bills and keep the heat on during harsh winters. With summer temperatures approaching, the loss of this vital program could leave our most vulnerable neighbors — seniors, children, and people with disabilities — without the support they need to stay safe in extreme conditions.

We are calling on Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice to take immediate action to protect this life-saving program. West Virginians cannot afford to be left in the heat and the dark.

Please join us in demanding action to save LIHEAP and protect the people of West Virginia.

Let’s stand together to ensure no West Virginian has to choose between food and electricity.

Thank you!

Last year alone, 56,108 West Virginia households relied on LIHEAP to afford their utility bills and keep the heat on during harsh winters!!!

With summer temperatures approaching, the loss of this vital program could leave our most vulnerable neighbors — seniors, children, and people with disabilities — without the support they need to stay safe in extreme conditions.

So we are calling on Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice to take immediate action to protect this life-saving program. West Virginians cannot afford to be left in the heat and the dark.
