Healthcare for All WV is revving up for our 2022 Candidate Forums! There are numerous struggles to getting affordable coverage, prescriptions and supplies, and care for folks in our state. Many of these hardships can be addressed on a state level. For instance, we worked on two bills that altered the structure of Medicaid in WV to cover $1,000 in dental services and extended postpartum coverage from 2 months to 12 months. We also got a bill passed that put a cap on copays for insulin on a state level. We need state and federal representatives who take our health seriously and are committed to improving access and affordability for us.
We will be asking candidates their views on the urgent healthcare issues facing West Virginians. Our forums will be held every two weeks in September and October leading up to the midterm election. We will be holding them for legislative candidates in districts in Cabell, Wood, Kanawha and Monongalia Counties.
We are also preparing to present at the 2002 Medicaid Summit in September along with our partners from West Virginians for Affordable Health Care. Our topic this year will be Health Equity. We will let you know more about these events as they get closer.
