TAKE ACTION – Tell your Delegate(s) & Senators to reject this plan to give tax cuts to the wealthy at the cost of state programs and services!Â
At a cost of $254 million per year, over 5% of our state budget, the governor’s tax plan overwhelmingly benefits with wealthy with 62% of the tax cuts going to the top 20% of households. The average West Virginia household would receive just $2.30/week. And of course, the governor is using a one-time revenue surplus (the result of unique factors and federal aid) to justify a permanent tax cut, meaning in future years paying for the tax cut could require cuts to programs and services. You can read more about the plan here: https://wvpolicy.org/nothing-new-about-governor-justices-special-session-income-tax-cut-plan/Â
