Town Hall to Discuss How Cuts to Public Services Impact West Virginians
Republicans Are Planning To Gut Health Care For 625,000 West Virginians To Hand Out Tax Breaks To The Rich and Big Corporations
Charleston, WV – On April 17, 2025, a coalition of organizations is hosting a Congressional Town Hall to discuss federal budget issues. Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice, and Representatives Carol Miller and Riley Moore have been invited to hear constituents’ concerns about proposed cuts to our federal workforce and to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, SNAP, and other vital programs West Virginians rely on. Community members and healthcare providers will share stories about how these essential programs benefit them, their families, neighbors and patients.
Recent reports released by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and KFF show Republicans want to cut billions from Medicaid and put health care at risk for 625,000 West Virginians in order to fund tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans.
