With the deadline to introduce bills behind us, we are ‘over the hump’ of having to wake up to a new barrage of proposed legislation every day, phew! However, the Legislature can work around the rules — and the decision by the House of Delegates to eliminate public hearings has stifled input from constituents — but our voices are still getting through, as evidenced by Monday’s rejection of a dangerous bill to weaken West Virginia’s strong childhood immunization requirements.
Unfortunately, a number of other harmful bills are flying through the Capitol. This edition of the Capital Eye is a collaborative roundup of updates, actions, and upcoming events from WV CAG, partner organizations and our members. Please contact your legislators on key bills, share our alerts with your network, and continue to stay engaged. Let’s continue to fight and build a more equitable and just West Virginia together!
