Everything’s On the Line, Stand with Us this Giving Season

Yes, we’re in a serious meltdown right now, both in Washington and Charleston.

We are witnessing deliberate chaos and unprecedented assaults on our safety nets, our environment, and our democracy. The Billionaire class will continue this onslaught – that is, until ‘we, the people’ stand up and say NO MORE!

You can help by your generous Giving Tuesday (tax-deductible) donation to WV Citizen Action Education Fund or a membership donation to WV Citizen Action Group.

Right now, we’re opposing permits for a complicated boondoggle to generate power from burning over 900,000 tons per year of woodchips in Mason County. This project would generate carbon credits and produce no energy for the grid.

The same company already has an application in for a gas-based hydrogen plant across the road, which would generate power for yet another dirty data center on a microgrid.

Your Giving Tuesday donation today will go directly to legal expenses to stop corporate polluters from burning up our trees to power unnecessary AI.

Sulma Arias, the Executive Director of People’s Action, says:

“It is time we recognize that the rules have changed. As organizers, we must rise to this moment, … to stop the destruction of democracy by those who aspire to endless authoritarian rule. The time is now, and it is up to us. We have no time to lose!

You can make it a priority to save our environment and representative system of government, to maintain checks and balances for future generations, by becoming a member of WV Citizen Action or donating to WV Citizen Action Education Fund. Your donations make our organizing possible.

On behalf of the WV Citizen Action staff, board, and all our members, thank you for your investment in West Virginian people power.

Dani Parent, Executive Director
