It’s time to #FixOvertime! Right now, salaried workers in the United States are only eligible for overtime pay if they are paid less than $23,660 annually – essentially poverty wages. That is why the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently proposed a new rule that would increase the salary threshold for overtime eligibility. Under the new rule, workers making up to $50,440 would be eligible for overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a workweek. The corporate business lobby is organizing significant push-back to the new rule, so it’s imperative that we take action to demonstrate strong support for this new rule. What can you do to help? |
