West Virginians Deserve To Be Paid Fairly For The Energy They Produce

SUPPORT HOUSE BILL 5422 FOR FULL RETAIL CREDIT NET METERING.

As the West Virginia Public Service Commission considers a request to change the amount of money utilities have to pay for electricity generated from solar panels, a bill that would protect a key solar incentive has yet to be taken up by lawmakers.

Click here to send a quick message to House Energy & Manufacturing Committee and Judiciary Committee members asking them to consider and support House Bill 5422, which mandates utilities to adopt full retail credit net metering and increases allowed kilowatt capacity for commercial customer-generators from 500 to 1,000 kilowatts.

Hi Delegate _____.

My name is ____ and I live in ______ County.

I am calling today to ask you to support House Bill 5422.

The bill solidifies the current solar policy into code. It allows solar owners to get full credit for energy they produce and provide to the grid and to their neighbors. The bill also allows small businesses to own solar panels equal in size to those under the Power Purchase Agreement code.

I believe that West Virginia small businesses and families deserve the opportunity to take control of our energy bills through solar, and that this opportunity should not be reserved solely for big businesses.

Thank you for your time.
