We’re Counting on You, Joe! Black Lung Press Conference and Campaign (Launch held May 12th)

Several WV groups, including WV-CAG, gathered at the State Capitol in front of the Miners Memorial recently to support the WV Black Lung Association and their national president, Gary Hairston, from Beckley. The event was to roll out the www.BlacklungKills.org campaign and ask our Senators, especially Sen Manchin, to restore and extend funding for the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund. This fund is running a monthly deficit since Congress failed to renew the additional per ton assessment on mined coal that funds it.
