Thank you for calling your Representative last week and urging them to reject the Farm Bill/SNAP cuts. The defeat of this bill, despite the support from West Virginia’s delegation, is a victory worthy of celebrating. However,  in a last-ditch effort to revive the bill, House Speaker Ryan filed a motion to reconsider. This request for a new vote on the Farm Bill expires tomorrow (Tuesday).

Please call West Virginia Reps. David McKinley, Alex Mooney and Evan Jenkins, today at 1-888-398-8702. Urge them to reconsider their support for the bill if it comes up for another vote.

Lawmakers must reject partisan bills that cut food assistance and threaten health care, and develop a bipartisan measure that recognizes the importance of ensuring people have enough food to eat.

See our previous action alert if you need more talking points on the importance of protecting SNAP benefits.

If we can afford to give every millionaire a tax cut this year, we can afford to help single moms, low-wage workers and poor families put food on the table!

Yours for Action,

Team WV CAG

PS: Senators are currently working on their version of the Farm Bill with a possible vote before Memorial Day, so stay tuned!
