Come ask our Senator to “#SaveMeCapito!”
Next week, the U.S. Senate is likely to vote on an immoral healthcare bill that would take away health care for 23 million Americans in exchange for more tax breaks for the wealthy.
Senator Capito is a key swing vote on this bill. It’s no exaggeration to say that she may be the most important Senator in the country right now.
This bill would be a disaster for West Virginians – about 170,000 people in our state would lose their healthcare. Cuts to the Medicaid program would eliminate 10,200 jobs in the healthcare sector.
There are two important events coming up this week where we can send a message to Senator Capito to put the interests of West Virginians first and vote against this anti-healthcare bill:
- “Protect our Healthcare” Rally at the State Capitol river side courtyard and steps – Sunday, June 25th at 3pm
- “Whose side are you on?” Street protest at Senator Capito’s office – Monday, June 26th from 12:30-1pm
