Senator Manchin: Support the Federal EITC
WV organizations urge Congress to save critical provisions of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and refundable Child Tax Credit (CTC) before they expire. They should also close a large gap in EITC eligibility by expanding it for low-income childless adults and non-custodial parents. These changes would encourage and reward work, boost employment, and reduce poverty. More

Time is quickly running out. Congress must pass a spending bill before December 11th to keep the government running and provide the programs that millions of Americans rely on every day. Congress has made some progress by agreeing on how much money should be spent on defense and non-defense programs, but there is still a lot more to do. More
