Senator Manchin: Support the Federal EITC
WV organizations urge Congress to save critical provisions of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and refundable Child Tax Credit (CTC) before they expire. They should also close a large gap in EITC eligibility by expanding it for low-income childless adults and non-custodial parents. These changes would encourage and reward work, boost employment, and reduce poverty. More

Speak up before we are out of time
Time is quickly running out. Congress must pass a spending bill before December 11th to keep the government running and provide the programs that millions of Americans rely on every day. Congress has made some progress by agreeing on how much money should be spent on defense and non-defense programs, but there is still a lot more to do. More

Upside Down
Our tax system is upside down – big corporations pay lower tax rates than small businesses and the wealthy pay lower tax rates than the rest of us. But one way that our tax system helps people afford the basics is by giving them tax credits for work (Earned Income Tax Credit) and for child care (Child Tax Credit). More

West Virginia Rivers Coalition submits these comments for the 2017 Water Quality Standards Triennial Review on behalf of its members and in collaboration with the organizations listed on the signatory page of this document. Each signatory has a vested interest in the quality of West Virginia's waters, and believes that strengthening standards are critical to the future health of our water resources and economic development opportunities in the state.
