Legislative Update Week 5: The Big Disconnect

Too many in the majority party controlling the Legislature right now are basically disconnected from real solutions needed to address many of the critical problems facing our state. Public Hearing on Campus Self-Defense Act – Feb. 15th, 9AM
The Judiciary Committee will host a public hearing on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 9 a.m. on S.B. 10 - Campus Self-Defense Act. Please attend and help protect our schools and our kids from guns and gun violence.

Elections & Courts Update
The Senate Judiciary has referred three bills to its Elections and Public Integrity Subcommittee. The Senate Judiciary Committee has also advanced two bills that would decrease transparency of political spending. The House Committee on Political Subdivisions has advanced three bills. Plus judicial redistricting is underway.

Health Care – Insulin Bill & Others Needs Your Help!
HB 2430 is a bill to lower the cost of insulin and diabetic supplies for people with health insurance. The proper supplies and insulin can literally extend the lives of diabetics by a decade or two. This means so much to our state because West Virginia has the highest rate of deaths due to diabetes in the country.
