Tell FirstEnergy: No More Bailouts for Expensive, Polluting Coal
FirstEnergy's regulated West Virginia electric utilities, Monongahela Power Company and The Potomac Edison Company, are considering buying the Pleasants Power Station, a 1,300 megawatt coal plant that is scheduled to retire this summer. If FirstEnergy customers are forced to bail out this failing plant, the plant could continue polluting our climate, water, and air for many more years. Send their CEO a message now and tell them why you as a customer don't want them to purchase any more dirty, expensive coal plants. Don’t Let the Senate Decimate the Budget
The Legislature's tax scheming continues with the Senate's new "compromise" plan, which would be devastating to all West Virginians when it blows holes in the budget, forcing more and more income tax cuts for the wealthy. Instead, we should be investing in health care, public education, infrastructure, and other public services. Tell your legislators: No tax cuts until our needs are met! More

Tell Congress: Crack Down on Profiteering in Medicare Advantage!
We believe that everyone should have access to the healthcare they need and people should come before profits. That's why we are fighting for Medicare for All. To get there, we need to stop the expansion of privatized Medicare called Medicare Advantage, which makes healthcare more expensive for everyone while increasing corporate profit. More

URGENT: Health Care Bills Need Your Help to Get Out of Committee!
These health care issues need your action today! SB 269 would raise the Medicaid Dental Benefit from $1,000 to $2,000 a year for adult recipients. Dental and vision health are vital and inseparable from overall health. This bill is a natural next step to expand health equity in the state of West Virginia. SB 610 and HB 3274 could be a huge step in eliminating the "Medicaid Cliff Effect". Those who approach the Income eligibility cap for Medicaid would no longer have to try to figure out if they can afford a raise that would cost them their healthcare. More

Keep WV Funded: Take Action to Stop Dangerous Tax Cuts!
Right now the Governor and the Legislature are sparring over the best way to give tax cuts to the wealthy and big businesses — at our expense. Every West Virginian would pay the price because of the gaps that would be left in the state budget. We need a budget that reflects our priorities: investments in programs that benefit all West Virginians, not tax cuts for the wealthiest. Tell the Governor and your legislators: No tax cuts until our needs are met! More
