WV CAG Statement Concerning First Ten Prescription Drugs Named for Long-awaited Medicare Negotiations to Lower Prices
Drug manufacturers of Xarelto, Eliquis, Januvia and other medicines targeted for negotiations pursue lawsuits to overturn the law, keep profits extreme. Rather than fight the new law with frivolous lawsuits, the drug corporations should cooperate. Negotiations will lower prices and still allow them to make a profit but without the relentless price-gouging that hurts patients and Medicare. More

Join WV Citizen Action and partners for a series of webinars focused on challenges to our democracy and the actions we can take to protect our freedom to vote and hold those in power accountable. For our first “Lunch Out Loud” on July 28, Atiba Ellis, Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and Anthony Majestro, a Charleston attorney with experience in election law, will discuss recent decisions by the US Supreme Court that affect voting rights, and what they mean for ballot access in West Virginia. The conversation will be moderated by former Secretary of State Natalie Tennant.  More

AEP is requesting a nearly $650 Million rate hike that, if approved by the Public Service Commission, YOU get to pay for. Our electric rates have doubled in the last 10 years and this will just make rates go higher. On Monday, July 24th at 5:30pm, please show up at the ground floor hearing room at the PSC headquarters, located at 201 Brooks Street in Charleston, WV, and tell the PSC and AEP “NO!” to rate hikes on the backs of West Virginians. We can’t afford ever increasing electric bills. More

WV CAG and WV Citizens for Clean Elections joined other members of the Declaration for American Democracy Coalition in sending letters of support to our to our House allies in support of the Freedom to Vote Act (FTVA) and in opposition to the "American Confidence in Elections" (ACE) Act. You can read our letter below ahead of the FTVA's reintroduction. To fortify free and fair elections and help get big, secret money out of politics, Congress must pass the Freedom to Vote Act. More
