The House passed 264 of their bills and the Senate sent 235 over to the House. Bills that never moved across the aisle are now in the recycling bin, that is unless they get amended into another bill that’s still moving. Now the race continues until midnight this Saturday, when all activity of the 2023 legislative session grinds to a halt. More

Affordable Medicaid Buy-in and Insulin Bills Need Your Help to Become Law!
HB 3274, the Affordable Medicaid Buy-In bill, would allow thousands of lower income West Virginians to climb economic ladder and keep their vital health coverage. SB 577 would put a copay cap of $35 on insulin and $100 for supplies for those who are covered by traditional insurance. We are also seeking help on the very expensive supplies diabetics have to pay for beside insulin like test strips and continuous glucose monitors. These issue need your action today! More

WV DEP Holding Public Meeting on Ethylene Oxide Monitoring – March 2 @6PM
Over the past year, the WV Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) has held a series of public events around its fenceline monitoring project and announced last week that it had signed a collaborative agreement with Union Carbide Corporation’s Institute facility to reduce ethylene oxide (EtO) emissions. It also announced it has published its final report on its monitoring project. A public meeting on the final report is set for Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilson Union Hall on the campus of West Virginia State University. Tell Governor Justice to Veto Campus Carry; Public Hearing Friday on “License to Discriminate”
Yesterday, the House of Delegates overwhelmingly passed the Campus Self-Defense Act (SB 10), despite opposition from students and educators across the state. It now heads to the Governor's desk. Today the West Virginia House Judiciary Committee resurrected a version of a "license to discriminate" bill that was defeated in 2016. The committee announced a public hearing on the bill for Friday, Feb. 24 at 4PM. Details here on ways to take action. More
